Question / Help How to put background image into letterbox frame on twitch?

Hi, my OBS skill is pretty basic and I looked around for a bit and couldn't find an answer to this. I run a 16:10 resolution and so I get letterboxing on twitch.

I heard that you can fill the letterboxes with images to make it look less ugly, but I can't figure out how. Does anyone mind running me through it? I'm not that hopeless or anything so you don't need to put too much effort into the explanation! I am using game capture, would I have to swap to another capture method?

Thank you!

Black bars on sides ? Well, twitch player aspect ratio is 16:9 and you're streaming using a 16:10 aspect ratio. You can either change in obs the output resolution to a 16:9 one, or just ignore it. As for filling the dead space , never heard of such thing on twitch.

I actually found the idea of filling the letterbox with images on these forums, but there was no explanation as to how to do it.

I know what letterboxing is and why it occurs just wondering if there's a way to fill the empty space.

Sure you can. Just make sure your base resolution is set to a 16:9 resolution, and then just add content to fill the black pace. Images, text, whatever you want. You can move stuff around the scene with the Edit Scene button, like normal.
