Hi people,

In a scene, I have a Media Source (video).

Can I send the audio from this video to an external mixer? And when mixed insert the return from the mixer back into this scene?

I have a Soundcraft Signature Multitrack mixer, so I have separate input and output devices available in OBS.

PS getting the signal back from the mixer is easy by adding an ' Audio Input Capture' and selecting the right input track.

But the question is, how get the audio from a scene to be sent to an audio output (aka 'send').

Any ideas?

I believe you're wanting your mixer's multitrack feature to work backwards. The input that you get from each track is an insert which occurs post-amp in the chain (pre-eq and pre-fader), so even if you were to output a track from OBS to your mixer, you would have no control over it for trying to send it back as an individual track. Watch EposVox's review of that mixer.

But if you want to experiment, you can add a VST called ReaRoute which should let you output the audio source to a specific audio device without having to change OBS's main audio output device.

I am legitimately interested to know what's possible with this, as I have the signature 12 non-MTK, and have been wondering whether it would it be worth it in my use-case to upgrade.
