Question / Help How to manually distort aspect ratio

Hi everyone,

I have an ADS Pyro A/V link capture device (it's a dinosaur, from like 2005), and for whatever reason, it captures 640x480 signal as 720x480, distorting the picture, making it the wrong aspect ratio. This can't be changed; If I try to change the resolution of the source in OBS, it says that it's not supported by the device, and I either get a red box or nothing at all. It appears that the aspect ratio of the capture window can't be changed. I'm asking if there's any way to redistort the image i.e. compress it the opposite way to compensate for the capture card's distortion.

Thanks! That works pretty well!

Do you know if there's any way to do it specifically (i.e. type in numbers or make the ratio something specific) rather than having to eyeball it or use a ruler on my monitor?

Atm. you can only edit your scenes.xconfig

You will find this file in %appdata%\OBS or you click Settings > Open Configuration Folder in OBS

As an alternative you can set your base resolution to the wanted video resolution. Then adjust till the video fits. Then change back the base resolution and it should stay at that resolution.
