How to improve the performance in Window Capture?

I'm trying to capture a video from a window on my Macbook Pro 16''(Late 2019). The fps of video is very low. But, if i capture display, it works well. What causes it? Although i can capture display and crop it to make same result, I am worried that personal information may be leaked during the streaming.

I have same issue for more than a year now, and looks like no one has found any solution except for cropping down the full display capture instead of using window capture, which is very inconvenient...

What is the window that you are trying to capture? I've found that when using Safari, OBS struggles to get smooth footage due to all the different blockers Safari has in place. However, when I use Google Chrome as a browser I get perfectly fine video playback from my lesson plans.

If you can tell me what window you are trying to capture, I may be able to help a little bit more. However, hopefully this helps.

Happy streaming!

This has been an issue for a long time and I've been wondering myself if there is an effort to correct the performance. The only solution if you're gaming or something is to use Display Capture instead. But, that is not the most convenient for someone on a single monitor wanting to only show a specific app. In my case, I have to hide OBS and use hotkeys to navigate. Which is doable but not nearly as use friendly as using the GUI to navigate...

I don't do window capture on my mac. I use display capture and crop the capture to just encompass the window I want. The downside is I have to make sure that nothing obscures that window (multiple displays help with this issue) but the upside is that it is significantly faster and has much lower CPU cost.
