Question / Help How to get direct live feeds from a different user/stream.

The topic is sorta complex. I am going to do my best explaining.

So this is what the setup would look like.
This is just an example.

The Top Left Screen is a Window Capture of My Game. Thats simple and fine and okay. No need to change that.
But the Lower Right Screen should be a Direct Feed from someone who would send their Live Stream Feed directly to me.
I used Window Capture as an example, to give you an idea of what the setup would look like.

Please keep in mind that I do not want to use cheap work-arounds like using a Screen Region on a Twitch Stream or Skype Screen Share.

Is there a way to get a direct video stream like this from someone else using OBS if we set it up correctly?

I am up for any solutions. Even if it includes hosting my own server.
If not, then this would be a good feature request in my opinion.

As far as I'm aware there isn't. We have been doing the screen region capture of each others streams. It works fine that way to be honest. I know on twitch there is a setting to where they can stream to your channel. Im thinking that is some addon but sure.

Ah, that's a shame. I'll wait for more responses though.
The only reason I dislike Screen Region Capture on a stream from Twitch is the horrid delay.
Also you can stream on someone else's channel, but its basically like taking the whole channel for yourself.

But if there really isn't a way to solve this, I think I might post this in Feature Requests.

Once the VLC 2.1.0 is released, the Video Source Plugin will support RTMP streams. Then you can set up an RTMP server and have people stream to that, and grab their streams from your sever and bring them into OBS. But VLC 2.1.0 has to be released first.

You could set your own RTMP server up using a guide on the OBS forums viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2651 .

Then the other person streams to your virtual linux box.
You load the local stream in your browser and capture that and put it into OBS

VLC 2.1.0 is due to release in 2 Days. Good timing as I want to test my Setup and RTMP server during the weekend.
