How to force OBS to open on second monitor like before OBS 28?

OBS can't remember which monitor it was opened on last time.

Before OBS 28 I just dragged OBS to my second monitor after the installation and since then it has opened there when I started it.

Now after the update I drag OBS to second monitor but when I close it and start it again, it opens on my first/primary monitor again.

I think that's a bug. Or is there a setting which changed?

I'm also having this issue which then means the built-in docks have to be resized every time cos my monitors have different resolutions. I really hope it goes back to remembering it's location.

Also having this issue, along with the UI Scale being too large and it complaining about old plugins without providing a way to identify them vs the new versions... and no working websockets. So far this has been the most painful update to OBS in over 5 years, hoping it's worth it eventually.

A current work around I've found is to snap it over to the monitor you want with the start key and arrows. Do not maximize it. Maximizing right now makes it launch to default upon closing. Leave it unmaximized and it will remember your last monitor. I don't like this workaround but it'll do for now
That's a nice solution. Thanks. I mean it should be fixed but for now this is a great workaround.

Thank you for this work around!

I'm not sure there'll be a hotfix, cause I have the same issue with Vivaldi browser - it would only remember its last location where it was maximized or Windows + arrows moved to. Vivaldi devs told me it's probably system dependent, but it's literally only affects one app. Everything else works fine, including OBS in my case.

OBS updated for me today, (2022SEPT24) and this is not an issue, it will open on the last monitor it was active. tested moments ago and it is working as expected.

Not meaning to necro this topic but has a fix been figured out? My obs used to open to my portrait monitor now I've got to drag and resize docks every start. It's a nuisance but not the end of the world. Idk what caused the change. Is it dock related or just program in general?

They fixed it but one of the recent updates broke it again :D I have the same problem again.

Is this with version 29? Because I had this issue come up again when I updated to that version.
I figured out that Stremelements plugin is causing the issue. OBS 29 has no problem like that. After I installed the Streamelements plugin, I started having the issue. So if you also have this problem check if you have any plugin installed, maybe there are some other plugins which can cause issues like that.

I still have the issue as well, and I too use the Streamelements plugin. Has Streamelements been made aware that their plugin could be the cause of this issue?

Have you contacted their support to make them aware of this issue?
