Question / Help How to Fix Corrupt File? 1hr 45m

So I was recording some borderlands and all was going well and then I was done and i tried closing then got that message asking me if i wantd to wait for it to finish and I said yes i want to wait and then an hour later i go to edit the recording but it is corrupt. How can I fix it and why did this happen?

How did you try to play the video?
Some programs/codecs ignore certain errors and are sometimes able to play partly corrupted material and some can even convert it, fixing some of the errors.
It has been a logn time since i had problems like that so I do not remember any programs, I can only recommend to google for different video converting/playing software and try everything out...

Are you recording in MP4 or FLV? We usually recommend recording in FLV because it's less prone to corruption due to crashing/otherwise being interrupted. If your MP4 is corrupted, there's unfortunately little you're going to be able to do.
