How to edit tracks seperately and then merge them back together?

I am still trying to record multiple tracks and edit them to no avail, this is what I was able to accomplish:

• record 2 tracks from 2 microphones
• use the FFmpeg output settings
  
  Now when I open the video in VLC, the 2 tracks do show up indeed, but how can I edit them seperately?
  
  This is an Mpeg file
  
  I tried to edit in Audacity but it won't open MPEG, the MPEG pluggin not working either

You need a video editor like DaVinci Resolve (free version) and then you can export the video with the 2 audio channels mixed.
