Question / Help How To Do High Quality Audio/Video Recording

Hi Guys. I'm new to OBS Studio but not to video. I've been recording, editing, and converting video for a long time. I just can't seem to get my head around the idea of scenes and sources. What I want to do initially is to just be able to record from my PC monitor screen a video playing in my Firefox or Chrome browser. Not interested in multiple channel recordings right now nor streaming. If someone could tell me what I need to have in "Scene" and "Sources" to do this, I think I would be well on my way. I understand most of the settings terms from other video software that I have used such as MediaCoder, VideoRedo, and AVS2DVD. So I didn't have any obvious problems with the settings but obviously I have not done something right as I've tried to record with Studio three or four times unsuccessfully. I get excellent audio from the video but no video. Just a black screen. Your help would be much appreciated.

Scene : name it as you want
source: display capture

if you want just a part of the screen
right-click on display capture, filters, crop
