That Random Guy

Hello,
I realize this might not be the appropriate place to ask this, but I'm kind of stuck on how to proceed with the settings I have for my OBS software.
I recently upgraded my monitor and it now runs 1920 x 1080 natively.
I was hoping I could use it to record gameplays I run on steam, but I haven't been able to resolve the quirks yet.
The problems I have right now—I guess—would be the fact that I don't know how to set myself up for the best quality my computer can process.
So, basically, I need help.
My GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 420
My CPU is: AMD FX 6300 Six-Core 3.5 GHz
Display is: HP 22cwa
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Please let me know if there's any more information I can give you and I will do my best to provide you with what I can.
I've provided photos of my current settings for the OBS software.
With my current settings (shown in the attached pictures) I recorded a sample video and the quality was OK (I think), but the image was cropped and adjusted poorly. You'll find this image within the couple I uploaded as an attachment.

Thanks in advance!
