Question / Help How does crf=x get affected by the motion of the game

If you follow that guide, you're not using VBV, so there is no "balance". crf = quality regardless of motion. No VBV means max bitrate is ignored too.

so whether i am recording high motion game such as csgo, or low motion game such as dota 2, it shouldnt be affected?

If you follow the local recording guide the video quality will be consistent (in line with the crf value you set) regardless of the amount of motion. The encoder is allowed to use whatever bitrate is required to maintain that quality; low motion will require fewer bits while high motion will require more bits, but the quality won't fluctuate.
