How do I select which camera OBS uses?

My HP Laptop has been using the "HP vision HD Camera (as in device manager" that is preinstalled. It uses the camera lense on the screen.

I have a new webcam that shows up in Device Manager as "NExigo N60 FHD webcam".

How do I select the new one in OBS? I looked in OBS setings but I don't see where it is.
( I'm still looking }

If I run the auto configuration wizard will it change settings such as the stream key, bit rates etc.
Will it just let me select the the audio and video sources. The camera has its own microphone.
I want to know what to expect if I run it. For example I had to experiment with video resolution and FPS and would want to know if I have to do that again.
If I don't have to go through all of the settings that would be good to know.

Go to properties of the video capture device source and select the camera you want to use.
If you want to add a second camera to the same scene add another video capture device source to the scene

Where is "properties of the video capture device source"? Windows camera doesn't have many choices.
Is that in 'auto configuration" or "settings" somewhere?
The webcam doesn't have any configuration or properties of it's own. It's just what windows provides.

Are you talking about "source settings in OBS" ?
The webcam is connected by USB it doesn't have any settings of its own, Windows doesn't give you much, so it has to be in OBS.
I'm not sure where you mean?

you REALLY need to read the Quickstart guide. really. or go read it again
You are asking a super basic question and the answers you are getting assume you have at least some familiarity with OBS (reasonable assumption with DIY FOSS s/w)

OBS requires you set up a scene. Within that scene is sources, one of those sources, for you, would be a video capture device. For that device, you'd pick the specific camera

I did read #3 of the quickstart guide. The question that I would like an answer too as I asked above is ;

What I really want to know is if I run the wizard will it delete my other settings when all I want to do is change the source.

Turns out you guys are wrong. On the main page under the video you just click on sources and select the new cam. You don't have to go through auto config!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you got it figured out! Not sure anyone was telling you to run the autoconfig though. While that is the first step in the quickstart guide, the third step includes how to add a camera source. Gotta read the whole thing, to find the applicable part sometimes.

The rest of the folks were trying to point you at your existing Camera Source's Properties, which you can get to by right-clicking the existing video capture device source in the Sources list and choosing 'Properties'. You can choose which camera the Source is connected to, without having to run two video capture device sources by adding a second one.

Do watch through the Nerd or Die video tutorial series; it'll cover the basics of how to use OBS in detail, and get you a foundational knowledge of how to use the program. :)
