Question / Help How do I prevent window overlay?

Maybe the title wasn't the best way to word my question. I remember on older versions of OBS, whenever I use software capture, for an emulator, or any window in general, OBS would only capture what was happening in that window. With newer versions, however, it seems this is no longer the case. For example, when I have a crowded screen and have to open up a browser window, I'd like for my stream not to be hit with the image of Firefox/Chrome, but with the actual window in the background.

Is there a setting I missed? I'm sure I was able to do this previously. Thanks!

Yeah, check in your OBS Video settings to make sure OBS is on your dedicated GPU. If it is, then check the Compatibility Mode in the the Window Capture properties window that you see in the picture you linked.

I am having the same problem, and I've done everything you've said except for choosing the dedicated GPU in the video settings, because the only thing I see is Video Adapter, and I have 2 Video Adapters both called NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M.
