Not possible to add a group within a group.
However, you can instead create a dedicated scene, and include everything that you normally would in the nested group in there. Then include that scene in your main group.
This can also be extended indefinitely, since there's no limitation for including scenes within scenes.

Unfortunately, yes. While this functionality seems to exist within a certain fork of OBS, OBS Studio does not include it. It'd be a welcome feature for sure (along side scene folders for people who make use of nested scenes and the sake of organization).
Oh well.... C'est la vie.
