I want to run two instances of obs, one for the face using the webcam, and one for the screen. I would then use a video editing program to overlay the face on the screen recording, so that I can occasionally use the full face video, instead of always having it overlaid on the screen.
I was thinking I could sync up the two videos using the sound. However, despite both instances showing the mic input volume level going when I talk, only one of the instances records the sound.
I have to assume that this is because only one app can be using the mic input at a time. Is there a way around this, without having to invest in another mic? Would a webcam with its own mic input work for the one video, with the laptop mic forthe screen recording?
