How do I get secondary windows (menus, etc) to be included in recording?

Hello,
I am brand new to this. I installed and made the selections for Window. I am tryign to create an instructional video to create a report in MS Excel. It went very well, except that when I am in Excel and open a menu from the menu bar, OBS doesn't capture the menu or any secondary window/box in the recording. Many thanks for any help

You can capture secondary windows only with display capture. Window capture is unable to capture them.
