I can record in QuickTime 1080p60 extremely smoothly without any real performance loss, with really good video quality and the files are pretty small and they actually work in Final Cut... Is it possible to get on par with QuickTime performance with OBS?
Just by recording in 720p (with Apple VT Hardware encoder), the performance is hit by a lot, and using 1080p output produces unplayable framerates.
Not only that but the video output produced by OBS looks horrible compared to QuickTime, the colors are washed out compared to QuickTime and the output just looks messy. I've also tried to use NDI capturing methods, but it doesn't make enough of a difference to use that instead of just recording/streaming locally... Also, no matter what recording output option I choose, the video is corrupted when loaded into Final Cut, only way to really fix this is by re-encoding the footage in HandBrake.
Has anyone figured out how to actually get usable video output from OBS, with minimal performance impact?
