How do I edit window/display capture and fit without black bands

I'm trying to screen record without my menu bars or an advertising band on the top of the screen (dual monitors) as well as the bottom for window stuff.
Example: Picture 1 full screen, Picture 2 is edited screen.
Is there a way to fit this to full screen WITHOUT distortion? Or at least get rid of the two black bands - Picture 3?

There are a few things you can do:
  • live with it (not the worst choice)
  • add some background image, so the black bars are not black any more but filled with the background
  • reduce the height of the canvas and output resolution, so there is no space any more for the black bars. Settings > Video
  • increase the height of the browser, so the client area is as equal to the canvas height (see below)
What you need to do to avoid this situation in the first place is making sure the captured client area has the same resolution as the canvas resolution of OBS. The most easy solution could be browser fullscreen mode (usually F11), otherwise you need a bigger monitor where you can make the browser window bigger than the canvas resolution of OBS.
