Hey guys, I've heard many people say the love this program and that its so much better than many others. I trust these people and so i gave it a try too. It seems though my computer can't handle running it? I am trying the record my whole screen using the monitor capture, but when doing so it causes my games to lag very bad. The game I'm trying to recorded is League of Legends. It tells me that its getting 80-100 FPS but when I'm trying to record with OBS monitor capture it feels like 15-20 FPS. Also, I try to get 60FPS for the video OBS is making but it gives me 10-18. League of Legends can be recorded with window capture but i want my whole screen to be recorded too. Window capture seems to get rid of all the lag while producing decent footage. I've tried using both 64 and 32 bit programs while running in administrative mode; there was no difference.

Don't use monitor capture for games, use game capture. Monitor capture should never be used unless you absolutely need every window showing at once.

When recording LoL, you should set up 2 scenes: one with a Window capture (not monitor capture) for the pvp.net client, and one scene with a Game Capture for the game. Then use the Simple Scene Switcher plugin to automatically switch between the two: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1785
