I have been trying to use my OBS for zoom Livestream on my Macbook Pro M1, however, powerpoint isn't recognised as source. Please help.

Have you tried using Window Capture, and then select the open PP presentation?
I don't own a M1 MBP, I'm on a classic MacBook Pro, and I also haven't PP as a source, but use Window Capture to do it.
A neat trick when doing so is to configure the presentation mode to "Window", that way, your screen won't be filled with a presentation, but instead appear in a window by itself.

Easiest, and best way to use Keynote or Powerpoint as a source is from a second device — another computer, tablet or phone even. I use an old but grunty iMac as my streaming computer running OBS (will update the iMac to a new Mac when OBS runs reliably on the new Apple Silicon). I run Keynote (previously used Powerpoint) on a MacBook Pro running in presenter mode so I can see the next slide as well as any presenter notes if necessary. HDMI out from the MBP through a cheap USB 2.0 capture card (works better, frankly, than the BlackMagic MiniStudio capture card which I've also used which can be finicky to get working reliably). I use a third MBP for live guests via Skype (NDI capture is great!) or Zoom, and send the program video from the iMac via HDMI to the MBP (with another USB capture card) running Skype (or Zoom). We've now done 425 live shows (1 to 3 hours each) with such a set-up, gradually improving the set-up. Latest upgrade was to replace an old analog mixer with a RodeCaster Pro, which is excellent. I produce the Keynotes with images, graphics and embedded video, host the live show, switch through eight OBS scenes (three 920c USB cameras and an iPhone via IriunWebCam software) and run the audio with my right hand, and change the Keynote slides with my left. You can watch yesterday's show (1 June 2021, already over 3K views with our admittedly niche, sailing audience, and an 82yo co-host) here: https://www.facebook.com/SailingIllustratedBlog/videos/1332748327109091. Hope this helps.
