Hi all,
In light of coronavirus I've had to move my children's music class business online. So far it's been very successful but I want to continue to improve the quality.
I have a 2015 Macbook Air - 1.6Ghz with 8GB of RAM. I was using OBS Camera and my iPhone, but sometimes the video would slow down to something even slower than 1fps and I'd have to restart. At first I thought the problem was recording while streaming and then it happened again when I was experimenting by switching between my iPhone camera and my built-in camera.
So eventually I switched to my built-in camera and if I stream at 480p @ 1500 it's quite smooth. But of course, the quality leaves something to be desired.
My internet caps at 5Mbps up, and I get those speeds on a speed test. Right now I'm over WiFi, but I'm switching to ethernet soon. I could always upgrade my internet, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could outside of purchasing a new computer that would improve quality. Is there a camera I could buy that has built-in encoding? Am I just completely hamstrung by my processor? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
