How can i make the background transperent

Hello there,

when i stream a transperent programm then obs makes it background black. how can i make it transperent in OBS too?


left one is a screenshot of obs streaming the software, on the right is the software that is getting streamed

Individual sources can be transparent - that's how you get non-square borders between them - but the final result cannot. The final background is always black, so if the entire stackup is transparent in some area, that area will be black in the final product.
 
Something being transparent means the next lower source is visible through that transparent part. If there is no source below that transparent source, the background appears as black in OBS. If you want a certain non black background in transparent areas, put a source at the bottom of the sources that contains the desired background.
 
I think the "transparent" texture (checker-pattern) is expected instead of the true transparency here.
Is this capture of you drawing something in some image editor program? If so, what Source of OBS are you using for capture (Window Capture, Display Capture, Game Capture) and what program?
