Question / Help Hotkey's starting recording then cutting off

Hi I need some help (obviously). I am trying to use OBS and for some reason when i press the recording hotkey, it immediately cuts off, filming nothing. How can I fix this issue? My hotkey is the = button. It has never given me any trouble before right now as my hotkey.

Yeah i just checked. Everything works perfectly except the hotkey which cuts on the recording and webcam, then immediately cuts off.

That didn't really answer my first question clearly. Is the problem limited to using = as a hotkey, or does it happen with any key you assign?

Also does it still happen if you use separate keys for starting and stopping the recording?

Okay nevermind, apparently it was because my stream and recording hotkeys were the same key...that was never a problem before. I wonder why it is now. thanks anyway
