Hotkeys not working with VIA macro

I'm setting up my new keyboard and customizing keys with VIA. I've set up a macro with VIA to input the hotkeys (in this instance CTRL + =) and it does not work. The hotkeys work as intended when not using the macro, but there's something going on that prevents OBS from registering the keys from the macro with VIA. My previous keyboard was a Logitech and I was able to use macros without issue through their GHub software.

Here's what I've tried so far:
  • Running OBS as administrator
  • Recording the macro with and without delays
  • Using the key tester to confirm the correct keys are being inputted by the macro
  • Updating OBS
  • Screaming into the void
So far, no luck. This is my first time using VIA, so I'm hoping there's something I'm unaware of regarding how the software interacts with inputs. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

From your description this sounds like an issue with that software, not OBS.
Yes, it appears to be an issue with how the two communicate, not with OBS itself.. I've run it down as far as I can on the VIA side, confirming the keys are being inputted. I'm hoping someone has experience with these two programs specifically.

If you run OBS as administrator, you need to run any software that creates hotkeys for OBS as administrator as well. This is a Windows security feature: an app not running as administrator cannot send keys to an app running as administrator.
