Hotkeys doesn't work

Hello,

when I am trying to use any hotkeys in the app it doesn't work, I was trying few times with few different buttons on the keyboard, I run program as an admin. All my drivers are updated. Any ideas how it can be resolved?

Below is written:

We cannot turn on thread. Check details in the log files.
Check if you have updated deivers of your graphics card if you are using encoder NVENC or AMS.

The message says that streaming session wasn't started because of encoder error.
To get why encoder fails you need to post OBS log right after the error happened.

Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...

Use the OBS Analyzer which will give you some idea what the issues are. https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer or post the log here and somebody may look at it..

Usually you looking at last few messages from the log and comparing them to some of the similar issues already known to the forum, like:

OBS 30.0 can't start QSV recording anymore

I've been using QSV recording with OBS for many prior versions on Windows 10, but when I tried installing OBS 30.0 today my recordings will not start. I noticed in the recording settings screen there are now 2 different QSV options, one of them says "deprecated" which was what mine was initially...

When I am trying to use hotkeys two lines appears in the log files

23:41:02.825: Starting stream due to hotkey
23:41:02.826: Stream output type 'rtmp_output' failed to start!

In the above forum thread I was unable to find solution for my case.

1) Streaming?
2) Recording?

Rexording only. I do not want to stream at all. That why it is important to me hotkeys to work.

That message in the log means that you hit a key, and that key was assigned by you to start stream. Probably, streaming settings in OBS were badly configured, thus actual streaming failed to start.

If you don't wish to start streaming by accident, then change main menu File > Settings > Hotkeys settings (look for Start Streaming hotkey).

It should be recording, not streaming. I want to set-up hotkeys to start/stop recording

Problem solved, I was choosing wrong hotkey

I was choosing hotkey for streaming whereas I was thinking about recording LOL
