Question / Help Hotkey work even when OBS is not focussed

Hotkeys work pretty well for me, but can anybody on earth tell me why they work even when a totally different application has focus? May be when I know I can better live with it. :-)

Because that's what they're designed to be used specifically for. The hotkeys are so that you don't have to alt+tab into OBS in order to trigger stuff in OBS.

Always been that way.

Hm. Now I cannot type any text in another (chat) window.
I would love to see this as an option.
