Question / Help Hot keys not working all the time

I'm having an issue with the hot keys not working all the time. If I set up the hot keys (for example, space bar as transition) they don't always work. They work for a while until I start adjusting other settings, then they stop working. The only work around I have found is to quit OBS and the restart it. The hot keys will work upon restart, but if I start adjusting things, then they stop working. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a solution?

This happens on both my mac laptop and iMac 5k.
