Question / Help Highest x264(Software) preset on a 8 core ryzen?

I'm contemplating getting a ryzen 7 1700(Or higher), and I was wondering what the highest preset(Software x264) I would be able to run.
I'm basically trying to find out, what profile would trigger the "Encoding overloaded", and what profile won't.
This would be a capture PC, so all 8 cores would be utilized.

There isn't a single answer to this due to he number of factors involved - output resolution and FPS, the amount of detail and motion in the scene, CPU load generated by the content you're capturing (in a single PC setup), etc. The medium preset is usually as far as you want to go without seeing extreme diminishing returns, but you'll have to experiment.
