Hello,
I am using a 2 PC setup to play games on my primary gaming PC and then send the gameplay to the 2nd PC to encode and broadcast to twitch. To do this I am using an Elgato HD60 Pro in the stream PC.
I was duplicating my main gaming monitor and sending it directly to the Streaming PC but the issue was that I would have to sacrifice my 144hz and drop it to 60hz to match that of the Elgato.
One of the work arounds of this is to Set up additional Virtual monitor on your gaming PC, open OBS on both PC's and have the gaming PC OBS preview in full screen on that virtual monitor. Then send that as a capture to your Elgato at a capped 60hz and encode on the stream PC. Letting my main gaming monitor get a full 144hz.

With that out of the way on to my question.
Question - What settings with OBS Studio would I need to get the HIGHEST Quality Full Screen preview as possible. I am never hitting "Start Stream" on this OBS. I am not actually using more than a few % of my CPU to preview. But I want to give the highest quality possible so that when its being sent to my Elgato it has the best quality to encode.
With that being said getting a full solid 60FPS is very important, right now my preview seems to stutter a bit at times and it does not feel like a full 60fps is being previewed in the OBS window, or the fullscreen window. This translates to my streaming PC getting a lower quality source and thus my Twitch streams quality drops.
x264 or NVENC?
Bitrate?
Endocer Preset?
Advanced mode settings?
**For the Base Canvas and Output Scaled Resolutions I set them to what will be encoded @ 1600x900 60fps. If I set these to 1080p or 1440p OBS couldn't keep up at 60 fps and would drop down to something like 40 fps for some reason with the Preview window open.
