Question / Help High GPU usage, Low FPS in OBS, Normal FPS in Game

Lately, I've been having an issue trying to stream 720/30. When I'm on a normal screen (without game showing or playing) I get full quality FPS... but when I put the game on the second monitor to play and get into action, my GPU usage goes to 99%, and the FPS in OBS fluctuates and gets super choppy. I can't have a quality stream because of it.

I've actually had this issue before, and turning off NVIDIA Shadow Play fixed it... but now the issue is back. The only thing I can think of that I've done recently is install software for the El Gato HD 60 and plug it in. Since, the FPS issues are back. I've even tried uninstalling the El Gato software and unplugging it from my machine, but I still have the same issue.

I've Googled the issue and tried every single thing I've come across (lowered quality in game, capping frame rate in games, using VSYNC in games, etc.)...

PLEASE HELP!!

System Specs:
- AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
- 16.0 GB Dual-Channel 1197MHz
- Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-CF (AM4)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (EVGA)
- 1863GB Hitachi HUA7203020ALA641 SATA
- 476GB Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512GB

I'm having the same issue, see if your settings are close to mine.

System Specs:
Intel i7 8700k
G.Skill Ripjaws 32GB (2x16GB)
Gigabyte AORUS Z370 Gaming 7
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 ti (EVGA FTW 3)
6TB Western Digital Caviar Black

For extra effect I added my internet speed from Ookla Speedtest

Just so y'all know it's not my internet. Didn't want to create a new thread to save space on here too. I get constant 70+ FPS on 3440x1440 Resolution and ultra, that takes about 40% of my GPU as I showed in the image above. But when my OBS is idle, it sits at 45-65% GPU usage and only records in heavy fluctuations ranging from 15FPS to the full 60FPS. I tried everything people suggested but I'm just like TheNinjaWolf. I can't find why it is so intense on my GPU, even moreso than a whole game on Ultra settings

Update: I somehow got it to work right by Updating the Application. I guess the last version had troubles with GPU usage and all it needed was a simple update

It is sad then. It is unknown do you have rendering lag or encoding lag or both. Can you roll back your video driver and try again?

I don't know if I have rendering or encoding lag... This wasn't an issue before, then it was... THEN I did driver updates, but it didn't help.
Yes, it is very sad... which is why I'm here trying to get help. lol
