So I am recording NOT streaming and when I go back and watch my videos it stutters and this only happens when I get the warning high encoding in OBS. I am recording CS:GO (not a very demanding game??) and I have a i5-4670k and a GTX 970 is this hardware not enough for stable 1080p recording?

My OBS settings:

Any suggestions are welcome, ideally I would like to still record at 1080p and EDIT: 30FPS.

EDIT: I have turned down x264 cpu preset to superfast and it has made a considerable difference, if anyone could explain the repercussions of this on the video quality that would be great! thank you.

the only thing that will happen with superfast preset is larger file sizes.

what will help your CPU load the most is to get rid if the -high and -threads from your CS:GO launch options.
this is because you only have a quad-core and no hyper-threading and with CS:GO using to many threads, OBS has to take whats left.

btw, increasing your bitrate does nothing. it is ignored.
