I've recently set up a second PC for an upcoming project I'll be working on and I've come across an interesting issue. I've got a lot of experience with dual PC OBS setups from events I produce and from personal use as well but I can't figure this one out.
My 2nd PC specs:
Asus ROG Strix z270l m-ITX board
Samsung 950 NVME 250gb M.2 SSD
Core i7-7700k @ stock speeds with Cyrorig H7
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-2133
Elgato HD60 Pro
So here's the issue, the second I load OBS, the CPU goes up to 40%. This is with a blank scene and I'm not recording or streaming when it occurs. If I up my bitrate to 3500 and change the downscale filter to Lanczos or up the FPS to 60, my CPU immediately goes to 98-100.
My main PC is an i7-6700k and I have it set to x264 as well with Lanczos downscaling from 1080p to 720p and 60FPS. When I launch OBS on this machine, the CPU is sitting at 1-5%. Even when I stream, the CPU doesn't scream as much as this new rig is screaming at me.
I'm so confused as to how this is happening. The log files as of yet, have only made mention of 4 modules failing to load, teh same 4 that fail to load on my main rig (chrome_elf.dll, libcef.dll, libegl.dll, libglesv2.dll)
Any ideas?
