For three weeks I had no problems streaming with OBS Studio using default settings that were set when the program was installed. I didn't have to make any changes to the programs running on my PC. Then on 1/1/2019 whenever I tried to start streaming my CPU usage would go from 45 percent to 100 percent within two or three minutes of starting a stream. I started looking for a solution so I went into Settings>Output and lowered bitrate to 2000 and changed the encoder preset to ultrafast but still was not able to get things to stream properly.
I thought this may be an issue with OBS Studio so I downloaded and installed Streamlabs OBS. This ran longer but CPU usage still went to 100% CPU using the default settings.
I went into the game and lowered video settings and closed six programs running in system tray and then closed another six processes running. After doing that I was able to get the stream to work - https://obsproject.com/logs/bF67NSArMXWoyMbj - but I still had several instances where my CPU usage would go from 45 % to 100 %. Once that happened I'd have to wait for up to five minutes before CPU usage would drop to 45% again. I keep an eye on my CPU usage and noticed that anything over 80 % CPU would start affecting game play.
I looking for suggestions on what else I can look at to remedy this situation.
