Hi guys,
when i just have OBS open no game running just streaming my "Waiting for game" image i have like 20-30% CPU load on my Intel i7-2700k running at 4.2 GHz.

I never had problems before when streaming PUBG etc. but since a few days OBS is using like 40% of CPU when in game at PUBG.

Im streaming 1280x768 and 50 FPS i have a GTX 1070 and 16 GB ram.

I mean, that seems perfectly normal? You're using the x264 encoder, which uses your CPU to encode the stream.

I have two colleagues also using OBS same version but an older CPU and Graphiccard. When they "idle" stream they have 3% CPU usage. But i have like 20-25%

With "idle" stream i mean that im just streaming a "Waiting for new game" image nothing more. Also when we play PUBG or CSGO my m8s have like 3-10% CPU usage.

I could use hardware encoding because my GTX 1070 should have enough power or ? Will the quality be reconizible lower ?

You shouldn't really be comparing to other users, system configurations and OBS settings are rarely going to match up exactly.

Yes, you can try the NVENC encoder, as that should be about equivalent in quality to your current x264 settings.
