Hello everybody,

I want to hide layered windows or screens when I stream Poker.
I play poker with an HUD. So some numbers appear on my table. But I dont want that in my stream.
Can someone tell me how to do that? I use OBs 18.0.1

Hi, i'd like to push this.
My investigations also could not find a solution for this.
I am using screen capture for practical reasons and it captures also the Pokertracker 4 HUD. Does anybody know how i can tunr this off?
It seems like there is no possibility to tunr off capturing layered windows.

Display capture captures the display. You can have it crop the display to the dimensions of a particular window, but any window that is present inside the bounds of that crop will be displayed.

To capture specific apps or windows you'd need to use game capture or window capture, but I assume you've already tried this and know that not all apps can be captured using these methods.

Only other option I could suggest would be to overlay an image on top of the information you want to conceal.

It depends on what you want to do. There are several options.

If you're just wanting to crop the screen, then you can hold alt and drag the boundary of the screen capture to the desired position. You can also perform the same action by setting the crop boundaries within the Edit Transform menu.

If you want to cover up that portion of the screen, then just create a new source (either with an image, video, or whatever you want), and you can also set a hotkey to show/hide the source as needed.

If you want to just entirely cut out a portion of the screen, then you can use an image mask. Create an image (.png preferred, but anything works) that has the same resolution as your capture, paint everything that should be shown white, and paint the section that should be hidden as black. Save that image, then add an image mask filter to your capture source using that image.

There's plenty of other options as well, including all sorts of different things you could do with layer groupings/scene sources and filters on top of that, but that's all dependent on what exactly you're looking for.

The thing is that I play Poker and a Heads up display is layered over the tables I play. However I don't want this overlay to appear in the stream. I find through a google search that there was a setting to turn off "layered windows" in an earlier versions of OBS, but this option seems not available anymore and it has something to to with Windows10 (Aero?)

That was an OBS classic feature related to Window Capture, not Display Capture. Display Capture always captures the display. You can crop it to a specific window, but it will still show another window if that window overlaps the portion of the display you are capturing.
