Twitch has a "We may ban you if you don't contact us first" limit of 3500kbit for video encoding settings. Try to stream at 5000kbit for prolonged periods and they may ban you entirely.
Additionally, bitrates above about 2000kbit cause a LARGE percentage of your viewers to be unable to view due to their routes to the twitch's viewer servers not supporting above that.
