Hi ! i want to record and stream with a bad laptop and idk the best settings

My laptop specs are:

CPU: AMD A8-6410 APU Quad core 2 GHz with Amd radeon r5 graphics
GPU: AMD Radeon R5 M330
RAM : 8 GB Ram DDR3 1600 MHz
1TB HDD 5400 RPM
Windows 10 Pro 64 Bytes


Best settings for 720p at 30fps ? Please! Thank You!
I use obs studio 20.0.1 of course :)

considering that is a dual core amd apu cpu(no such thing as quad core from that amd line up) the igpu is weak but you wont beable to do 720p 480p is fine at 30fps but thats it and as long as you are using the amd encoder(which releases stress off the cpu) you would be good, but make sure new networking code is disabled(this is causing issue with all gpu encoders)

how can i disable the "new networking code" ? and i see only the cpu at encoders..

Settings, Advanced, Network, check box there for Enable new Networking Code.

In Settings, Output, Encoder what options do you see, there should be x264 as a minimum?

You could also try Tools, Auto Configuration Wizard to have OBS do a best guess on optimal settings.

sorry for late reply but yea i see x264 at encoder and thats the only encoder i see there

I do not want to interrupt but I would like to confirm that this applies to everyone using any GPU encoder?

It's not correct - it only applies to the AMD AMF encoder which does not report a bitrate property, causing the new network code to allocate too small of a buffer. This is fixed in the next version of OBS.
