Question / Help Hey guys can you please help me with my stream?

Hey guys!

So my hardware specs are:

Intel I5-3570
8gb ddr3 ram
nvidia geforce gtx 660

my up/dlrate tested with speedtest.net is:

DL23,63 mbps
UL 3,34 mbps


i tried a lot of settings but i cant quite get the stream to have a watchable quality and no lags on twitch.tv . everything is green in OBS but somehow the stream is lagging... could that problem be twitchrelated? or is it my setup?

Unfortunately, nothing in the log file indicates any issues with dropped frames, so I'm not sure where the stream lag is coming from.

Couple things I can suggest:

1) Don't watch your stream from the same computer you are streaming from, this will cause performance issues.
2) Try other twitch servers. Amsterdam and London (primary and secondary) are usually pretty good for EU.
3) Try playing in borderless window mode (if possible) and using Window Capture.
4) Lower in game settings a bit

You don't need to mess with the Preset here as that isn't your issue. I definitely do recommend continuing to use CBR, however, and sticking to 720p30fps.

So! First of all thx for your answer.

1) i only watched my stream from another pc.
2) i tried other twitch servers, but it didnt change anything.. i tried like every server for EU
3&4) im playing in borderless with lower graphics settings right now (league of legends, getting about 300fps without vsync)

so the stream is working fine for about 5secs then u have a 2sec lag where the screen freezes... and my ingame latency goes up to 300-500....

do you know what could be wrong? as i believe my hardware should be ok, the internet connection might be the only problem here?

EDIT: OK i guess it was the server... sorry i didnt try out london secondary, now the stream runs smoothly! only problem is my high ping ingame.. im using the low latency mode, doesnt help though :/ is there any other way to improve that? thx

Don't use the Automatic Low Latency mode in Advanced settings, use Minimize Network Impact instead under Broadcast Settings.

Automatic Low Latency mode should only be used if you are specifically instructed to, as it can actually make things worse depending on your situation.
