Hey guys, so my birthday is in a few weeks, and I'm too old for "real" gifts, so I'll be getting a decent amount of cash. Thus I'm looking to upgrade my PC to allow me to stream this summer.
Currently my Build is as follows (Note, I built this PC in Jan 2012)
CPU - Intel Core i5-2500k (Even after I repasted and reseated my heatsink, it idles around 54°C. While playing league of legends, Runescape and watching a stream, it peaks around 75°- 80°C, this leads me to believe it is reaching the end of its life) (Also best CPU for the price at the time, and it has served me well)
GPU- AMD Radeon 6950 2GB
PSU - Corsair GS800W Bronze 80+ certified
Hard drive: 2tb WD Green drive @ I think 7200RPM, soon to be made into my secondary HD after I install a 240gb v300 series Kingston SSD that's sitting around my house
RAM: 16GB Ripjaw DDR3(I think DDR3, Need to confirm when i get back to my house)
MOBO: I'm not entirely sure of the exact model of motherboard, I no longer have access to the Newegg account/email account that I used to order all of my parts. But I'm pretty sure its an ASROCK with LGA 1155 Socket.
I have tried to stream League of Legends, but when I do, my processor goes crazy. I have streamed oldschool runescape with no problems(although core temps reach 75°C+ constantly, but I don't want to be stuck only being able to stream runescape. I want to stream newer games as well.
From the research I've done, it seems like the only thing two things I really need to upgrade to be able to stream games well, are my processor, which I've been looking at upgrading for a while now, and my MOBO, since LGA 1155 Processors aren't really made anymore. However, because my graphics card is a bit outdated for newer games (Such as FC: Primal, Dark Souls III, etc) I'm also interested in upgrading that.
So I guess my questions are:
What processor should I get to last me at least another 4 years of reliable constant use for gaming + streaming at the same time?
What ATX Mobo can I get that will be compatible with all my current hardware, minus the old i5-2500k (since LGA 1155 is outdated)?(Keep in mind I might upgrade my GPU at a later date, so I'd like my 6950 to work with the new MOBO)
What is the best GPU that will run all these new games at high settings 60+ FPS? (Allowing myself comfortable room to adjust settings for streaming)
Any other tips, tricks, and general advice is much appreciated, welcomed, and wanted. Also if this is in the wrong forum can someone point me in the right direction? I'm new here.
Thanks a lot guys!
