Help with settings for my system.

Can I get some peoples' opinions on what would be best base settings for my system on OBS?

  • Motherboard - Asus Sabertooth Z87 LGA 1150
  • GPU - ASUS ROG GTX 1080 STRIX Edition 8GB VRAM
  • CPU - Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150
  • RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR3 2133Mhz
  • SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
  • HDD - 1TB Seagate 10k RPM
Any help would be appreciated. Once again, I am not looking for the universal "best" settings, I am simply wanting to see what people's opinions are on what would be best for my system, maybe some people have similar system specs?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If anyone else has any other recommendations other than things that are in Beta, it would be much appreciated. Just seeing what people think :D

The tool pretty much offers the same results in most cases, at least thats what I would assume. Since you didnt mention what game you are trying to stream I simply assume 1280x720 with 60 fps is a great point to start with. For Bitrate, once again no real information here so I simply assume you have plenty of Bandwidth which would open the possibility for a Bitrate up to 6000 though I recommend staying around 3000 since Twitch still tends to buffer frequently for your Viewers when you are not a Twitch Partner. Audio Bitrate of 96. CBR checked. Keyframe interval 2. Profile Main.

Everything else can pretty much be left on default, this should pretty much cover what the tool says besides the bitrate figure.

Sorry guys I kind of forgot about this thread temporarily, I play a lot of Hearthstone but on the other hand I play PUBG, CSGO and Overwatch. The majority of my stream is Hearthstone game play however. My connection is 280Mbps down, 30 Mbps up on average.

I'm actually more curious about how the recommended settings for you turned out.
For the most part the wizard came up with the same settings I was using before. So I am pretty happy with it. I am pretty much trying to squeeze out every little bit of quality I can (not being a partner). I am basically just picking brains to see if there is anything better I can do. I am not too sure whether I should be 1080p during hearthstone and saccrifice the 30FPS on shooting games, or 720p 60fps to benefit the shooting games. Just kind of torn.
