Question / Help Help with Resolution please

My monitors resolution is 1360 x 768 and normally I stream with that with no downscale. Would it be better quality to just stream in 1280 x 720, however my monitor would still be set at 1360 x 768? Also I would assume 1280 x 720 would be easier for people to decode the stream?

The decoding power difference will be pretty small, but you the output could potentially look a bit better at the same bitrate. In general I would keep obs at 1360x768 and just downscale.

Thanks for the reply. There is no downscale option for 1280 x 720 so would I be better off just using 1360x768 with no downscale? Instead of setting my base resolution to 1280 x 720 and haveing to stretch the image, well shrink it.

Ah, I wasnt sure, 1360x786 should be fine, and you stream what you see no scaling effects. If you want to test, just try the first downscale 1.25.
