Hello everybody.

I'm (trying to) streaming cs:go. while it was ok some months ago, with the recent patches my fps decreased to a point where I dont want to take it much longer. So I'm considering which is the beste (and cheapest ofc) way to increase my performance.

First, my current setup:

processor: amd fx-8350@4ghz
Graphics: nv 760 gtx 4gb
RAM: 16gb G.Skill something
MB: Sabertooth 990fx 2.0
Cooler: Zalman CNPS9900A LED

I considered OC, but I guess my cpu gets too hot, so maybe a better cooler and then OC?
New CPU? but upgrading to an intel would also require a new board...so kinda expensive with a good processor
2nd PC setup? I still have my old amd X4 phenom II 965BE+idk what motherboard+ Amd 5770HD but IDK if it's enough power to be the streaming pc + it takes some space away and idk if its practical

So i'd appreciate any help on this and sorry if i missed some data

you haven't given a log of what OBS settings you are trying to run. I wouold just first with your current setup make sure that you dont ahve any CS:GO launch options like -high or -threads as those will typically degrade performance while streaming.

Thanks for the reply!
there goes my latest log, just did a short stream with a fps benchmark map in cs:go running for a few min. I hope thats ok, if i should do it for a longer time, just tell me.

Do you need more information or do you get everything out of the log?

e: I dont got such launch options, just novid and nojoy, shouldnt affect something tho I guess

720@30 is about right for your CPU + CS:GO. I would check to see if your cores are parking since you dont have really any room to increase stream quality.

^you seem to be over your upload rate. run the above tool for your region and post screenshots of the results.

I'm running on Windows 10, so i heard there is nothing like core unparking anymore or am I mistaken?

Gernerally my Upload should be fine, i should've 5-6Mb upload speed and set 3 to obs? I know there were some dropped frames there, but usually I don't have problems with that

Yesterday I also managed to OC my cpu, guess I did something wrong last time. now running on 4.5GHz but couldnt test it too much, gained a little bit of fps on a fps benchmark map in cs:go tho. Will test it more this evening if it increased my fps while streaming on normal maps.

Another thing I might have to say is that I'm currently running on an older patch and on the 32bit Software 0.651b (cause I updated the 64bit to 0.655 already) but the Update caused some scenes to not run properly anymore. (I have to guess atm but I think it was the video source plugin) I'll add the specific one when I get home later.

Overclocking will typically help, but as long as you duplicate frames stay under 1%, you'll be fine. best is to stay around 0.5% duplicate frames or less. this is what I look at mainly to see if you have room to drop down 1 preset. I would actually stress the game with actual game play. demo's often have pre-rendered scenes which a live game doesn't.
