After spending the second conseqcutive evening trying to refine my settings, I am still getting this disturbing notice in my log

23:14:36.509: Output 'adv_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 311 (34.3%)

34%!!! That seems ridiculously high. Anyone who can offer advice I would be enormously grateful.
