Question / Help Help with OBS Settings

I'm not sure what my OBS settings should be set to, to reduce lag to stream on twitch.tv.

Everytime I try to stream, it says HIGH ENCODING, so I'm assuming that if I switch my settings that problem could be resolved.

Upload Speed: 5.53 mbps

I currently have an HP Stream 11 Laptop, the specs are:

Operating system: Windows 8.1 with Bing
Memory: On-board 2GB 1333MHz DDR3L SDRAM
Storage: 32GB eMMC
Processor: Intel Celeron N2840 Processor (2.16GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.58GHz)
Graphics: Intel HD graphics
Display: 11.6" diagonal HD AntiGlare WLED-backlit display (1366 x 768)
Battery life: Up to 8 hours and 15 minutes
Weight: 2.80 lb
Dimensions: 11.81"w x 8.10"d x 0.78"h
Wireless: 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth

If you need any other information on the laptop, it can be found here.

Thank you!

High encoding is usually affected by your CPU. Your laptop doesn't look very powerful so you might want to try streaming a game that doesn't require a whole lot. Which game are you trying to stream?

You can try changing the Advanced setting under Video, x264 CPU Preset to "ultrafast" (it doesn't have the same meaning as it sounds) and see if that helps. The only game I've had to do that with so far is Assassin's Creed Unity cuz of its CPU usage.

Just remember to change it back to "veryfast" for games that don't usually give you the High Encoding message.

That CPU is way too slow to stream/record at any decent quality. Use Resolution Downscale and lower the resolution until it stops giving the CPU message. It probably won't look good though.
