Help with mic settings

I'm wondering f there's a way to do the following: I make music production videos and I have my DAW sound being recorded direct from the source. What I want is, when I speak, for my voice to temperarily lower the volume of the music. Is this possible?

I use a lapel mic if that has any bearing on this.

Thanks.

This is called audio ducking. You can do this with the compressor filter in OBS, see the special ratio/threshold/etc. settings for this in the bottom section in this doc:

You apply the filter to your music source within OBS. It lowers its volume according to activity detected in the Sidechain/Ducking source.
