I purchased a live gamer portable and when i use the program it came with (avermdiea Recentral) all i get is a black screen on 1080i, if i switch to 720, or 480, it will say out of range. I updated the firmware of the LGP, it works on my laptop (laptop too shitty to stream) not sure what info to give to help solve the problem just let me know what you need thanks.

here are some pc specs: intel i7 2.93 GHz processor, 6GB ram, GeForce GTX 660Ti graphics card

Could you post a log file of the issue? Actually, post a log file of the laptop succeeding, and a log file of the desktop failing.

You are using it through the avermedia stream engine aren't you? You have to use that program they made in order to use it with OBS.

Yes I have the stream engine on when using obs, the capture card shows a black screen even on the aver media program tho, so the problem doesn't come from obs, maybe gpu related?

If the AVerMedia software isn't working either then the problem is not with OBS. Have you checked that everything is connected properly? Have you contacted AVerMedia about the problem?

Yes all the cords are connected properly as I said it works on my laptop so I'm not sure where the problem lies on my desktop, on the aver media website it times out on the contact support page, was hoping someone here might give me some ways to troubleshoot what might be causing the issue even tho the problem isn't with obs.

Ya tried that, graphics card is fully up to date, even tried older versions. I also updated the firmware of the capture card.

It's good that you updated your GPU drivers, but I'm referring to the drivers for your Live Gamer Portable. Not just its firmware but the rest of the software required to use it.

I am going to be honest I had this capture card but I ended up returning it for a refund because it struggles to commucate with computers which also means it struggles to communicate with streaming programs like Xsplit and OBS.

If the card is still new I would reccomend giving it a week or two of trouble shooting but if that does not help I would considering returning it for a full refund, you should have like a month or two to return it for a refund.

Ya that was my plan actually, if I can't get it to work I'm gonna go with the elgato I think, I was able to put a support ticket to avermeida so hopefully they can help solve the issue.
