Question / Help Help with Intel 965?

It appears that my problem is related to this systems admittedly horrendous Intel 965 graphics processor. DXWebSetup.exe from Microsoft says I'm fully up-to-date with DirectX 10, I also ran a general Windows update (incidentally updated my Flash and Java, which I'm pretty sure is unrelated), as well as the latest drivers from Intel, dated 2012 November 6. Searching this forum "Intel 965" here produced nothing, implying that I'm the first person to try OBS with this thing and report back here about the resulting meltdown. Any help would be appreciated.

Error: Could not create D3D10 device and swap chain. This error can happen for one of the following reasons:

1.) Your GPU is not supported (DirectX 10 support is required - many integrated laptop GPUs do not support DX10)
2.) You're running Windows Vista without the "Platform Update"
3.) Your video card drivers are out of date

In the larger picture, I need a capture solution for Kerbal Space Program that doesn't automatically stream back to the vendor. I've tried CamStudio (audio falls apart and loses synch), ffsplit (crashes), VirtualDub with ffsplit Overlay (crashes), Overwolf (causes KSP to crash, produces unreadable files, opens Internet Explorer even though Firefox is my default browser) and Bandicam (software vendor seems to be uploading my hard drive, but otherwise it works okay.)

That's an integrated laptop GPU that is quite old and doesn't support DX10. You won't be able to use it with OBS.
