Hi. I've had this problem on my earlier computer as well as this one (my new) when I run OBS studio. I am afraid that I'm overheating the graphics card (or cpu) when I record. On my earlier computer playing games ended up in graphical objects like shadows, or the texture in a wall of a game became a line with that specific texture/ multiple over the screen without even using obs. Although in the first couple of usages of OBS I detected smaller graphical bugs which ended up in bigger ones and then I didn't even had to start OBS to get the issue and at that point I got it while gaming, after 2-3 hours. (Guess I damaged the graphics card?)
Both of them have nvidia video cards and run smoother with the option NVENC instead of x264.
Now on the new computer I saw a strange white line in a game that I usually don't see when I was recording and I'm afraid that it is an indication of the graphics card melting in this new computer too so now I have the OBS uninstalled.
I've seen some instructional videos on youtube, some say that the best bitrates to use are between 30000-50000, others around 3000-3500 and I don't know if this could be the cause but could it be? I used 30000 in both of them. Could this be the issue? What is causing this behavor of the computer? Can OBS overheat the components inside the computer?
Another useful information (I could imagine some of you guys play CS:GO)
When you play on the map cache and go to heaven at B, you see the cartons up there, and the edge of them are dark blue when I had the OBS on with current settings (see down below). While playing without OBS though, if I go to the same spot, the edges are a bit more of a shadow (it is a shadow) in the game, as it's supposed to be like that.
Some of the settings I used in the newest OBS studio:
bitrate:30000
Bilinear something...
60 fps
1080p
No downscale
The rest is pretty much on Default settings/ untouched.
All in all, can OBS Studio damage the computer while recording without the right settings?
I would be very glad if someone could help me because I don't want to fry this computer too.
