Hi,

I would like to know what is the best settings and preset to use on OBS to stream smoothly using my upload speed and laptop specs.

Currently I am streaming at Nico Nico Douga and Hitbox.tv playing Dark Souls 1 & 2 on PS3, sometimes I get game sound and mic delays when streaming so the video and sound don't match up. And the stream video itself has around 15 secs delay from my point of view.

My upload speed is from 800kbps~1Mbps. I stream at 20 fps, resolutions 640 x 360. My capture device is a GV-USB2 with S-Video cable.

Here are my laptop specs:
 - Hewlett-Packard Laptop PC
 - System Model: HP Pavilion g4-1322tx Notebook PC
 - Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
 - Memory: 4096MB RAM
 - OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
 - DirectX Version: DirectX 11

With that internet and pc, I wouldn't even bother streaming tbh. But if you still wanna stream, this is what I'd recommend:

640x360 (using a downscale with lanczos filter will give you a sharper image)
25-30 FPS
~500 bitrate/buffer (if you get high ping in-game, you will have to lower it a bit until you're good)
Veryfast preset

Leave the rest as default, or however OBS recommends it.

20fps is like a slideshow atleast put it to 30FPS, your system isn't exactly capable for streaming specially if you dont have a dedi card even on a laptop.

A laptop isn't recommended for streaming at all. But if you do choose to use a laptop, I'd recommend something like an i7-3720QM processor or higher. Also, wireless connections aren't recommended either. A wired internet connection is a lot more stable and consistent. also, for streaming at 720p or even 1080p (1080p not recommended), something like a 2,5 mbit upload or higher should be good.

I'd suggest using a desktop with at least an i5 2500k or higher and a dedicated videocard, something like a gtx 750ti/radeon r9 270x or higher and at least 4 GB of ram to be able to stream at very decent quality with small performance loss.
