Question / Help help wanted Windows Capture not Capturing/freeze

Obs noob, attempting to do a window capture in 32 or 64 bit obs, windows capture will either show a black screen, frozen image or wont show the image at all but will match the game in the background but not the window capture image. tried. uninstaling and reinstalling not working. tried game or twtich broadcast, same issue. thanks you,
